Effective communications is critical to each relationship in life, and is indispensible to the success of every team - at home, work, in sports, organizations or communities. But what happens when we fail to convey our message as intended, or we inaccurately interpret the intentions of others? The results can vary from mildly disappointing to disastrous. When communications break down, so do our connections with the people we lead and serve. But communications failures don't have to be final. Better understanding ourselves and others broadens the potential to achieve desired results.
"You are the first adult I ever heard talk about this. In our community, we don't talk about it, even though people know what's going on. Thank you for speaking to us today. You really helped me."
"I have just one question. Will you please come back?"
